About us

Established in 1959 as a barbecue plant that sold products to local stores, Byrd's was then converted into a family-owned restaurant open for 64 years! The husband and wife team, Kim and James, are now the happy owners of this community landmark and are excited to expand the impact of good food and good friends at Byrd's.

Kim (the friendly woman who greets you at the door!) had a lifelong dream of owning a small restaurant and home where she could invest in her community. James grew up seeing Byrd's every day on the way to nearby Southern High and dreamt of revamping the old space. In 2023 their dreams came true when they purchased the restaurant and are thrilled to explore new ways to expand into the community.
